Is this Corsair DDR2 RAM compatible with my new Motherboard?
I am about to purchase the XFX nVidia 610i (GeForce 7050 Graphics, and according to Crucial.com (a site I use a LOT when I repair PCs), only supports DDR2 Non-ECC RAM.
Im planning on using this machine for World of Warcraft on Windows Vista 32-Bit (or 64 if i can install it with my processor).
The RAM i am looking at is the Corsair XMS2 DDR2 6400 800Mhz on Amazon (link below). Will it be compatable with my new motherboard or will I need Value RAM (I want it for gaming so value RAM is not exactly the best i know)
Many thanks in advance
Ian

Yes it’s fine… and SiN, you’re a bit confused. The maximum FSB speed supported by the motherboard isn’t important- the CPU’s FSB is!!
If you’ve got a Core 2 Duo E5200 (or any other 800Mhz FSB cpu) that’s what speed the mobo communicates with it, and what the RAM must match. Faster RAM is only beneficial if you’re running a faster CPU or overclocking.
