In laymans terms; what is the difference between the new intel I7 processors and the previous quad core cpu’s?
and are they worth the upgrade for gaming?
If you are planning on doing SLi, the i7s are best bet. If you will stick to the single card then go quad. The difference is that the i7 has strongest calculating power. If you are going i7 then you’ll need new mother board and ram. Difference between i7 and quad is very slight if you only use one card in games. Other applications like video editing will probably go faster on the i7s.
