Can anyone recommend both socket am2 & socket 775 motherboards that can be used to do moderate cpu overclock?
i am looking for motherboards in the $40 to $70 price range that can be used to overclock processors to obtain 10 to 15% increase in speed.
for Socket AM2 mainboard for moderate Overclocking.
i am just fine with the overclocking function provided by AMD or other mainboard manufactorer. based on my expierence, I don’t recommend overclocking for AM2 mainboard because if any settings is wrong and something goes wrong. you may need to sent in your board for repairs. AMD processors does not have warranty cover for overclocking
For LGA 775 Mainboard
I would like to recommend a Intel Intel® Desktop Board DX38BT for Overclocking. the bios in the mainboard is TOTALLY UNLOCKED for overclocking. IF you happen to make set a wrong timing or clock speed. the setting wont even kill the Intel based processor.
Intel® Desktop Board DX38BT is a gaming mainboard and it can be a normal household PC.
But overall PC performance is based on your Processor speed, FSB(front side bus speed), RAM Speed and the transfer speed of your Harddrive.
