How can i find out how much video memory my motherboard supports?
i heard that some mobos only support 256 MB video memory, and my mobo is a Dell De051.
The motherboard only has limits on system memory. Video memory is physically located on the video card and the motherboard has no effect upon that. The video card might have 128mb, 256mb, 512mb or 1gb- the motherboard neither knows nor cares. All that matters is that your video card has the proper type connector for your motherboard’s video slot (PCI-E, AGP or old-style PCI)
For motherboards which have built-in video and use system RAM as video memory, got into the BIOS setup and see how much can be allocated.
