Is it safe to mix thermal compound?
I little of the thermal paste from my old heatsink and new heatsink were mixed during a test install, they are slightly different shades of gray. Is it safe if I have two different types of thermal compound between my processor and heatsink, or do I need to go buy new thermal compound?
Both compounds have never been used.
It is safe, but won’t be as good as just 1 paste. There could be a chemical reaction.
Just clean it off and apply new paste.
