Old dell dimmension 8100?
my dell dimension will not boot from cd. i can login normally and it will load the cd but when i set it to boot from cd. it won’t load until i log in. also when i hit f12 to go to boot menu it says keyboard failure but f2 works?
Edit your BIOS. It should say “hit DEL to enter setup” when you first turn on the machine. sometimes it might be another key, but I think it’s DEL on most dell’s.
When you do that, you need to head over to “boot”, scroll down to “boot priority” and make the first one the CD-rom drive. 2 should be hard drive.
edit: Thinking about it, F2 should be your setup button. just head into your BIOs and find your boot sequence. Googleing your specific BIOS manufacture might be the best bet.
