Ceramique Thermal

Will Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compund Work on a Graphics Chip?

Will arctic silver ceramique work as a good thermal compound for when I put more thermal compound on my graphics chip?

Yes, it is a thermal compound to help heat transfer better to heatsinks. You can use them on processors and RAM chips alike. On.. anything with a heat sink.

Just make sure you clean off any existing thermal paste from both chips and heatsinks before applying new paste.

Tip: here is a kit of 2 solutions. One for removing existing thermal paste and one for cleaning the surfaces of the heatsink & chip before applying new paste.

RAM Memory For an Intel Motherboard?

Hi, I want to know if these memorys are compatible with my intel motherboard DP35DP?

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/OCZ-2GB-DDR2-PC2-6400-PC-Memory-Kit-OCZ2N800SR2GK/sem/rpsm/oid/184345/catOid/-12994/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

OR These:

Thank You :)

The DDR8500 modules are 1066Mhz, these are the best and your motherboard supports at highest 800Mhz so you will have plenty of headroom should you want to overclock or lower timmings/latencys.

That RAM will also not need upgrading if you get a better motherboard and CPU in a year or so.

Edit:
RAM with higher speed than your motherboard supports will run at lower latency to meet the boards specification.

With Intel the highest FSB is what you want to achieve for best performance, higher speed RAM is the best way to archive this.
Running lower speed RAM out of its spec may damage your other components.
Stick with the fastest you can get.

Chip Ram

Chip Ram

When u put in a RAM chip from another computer to ur computer do u need a paticular driver for it?

Iam putting a RAM chip in my cpu from anothers one. So would i still need a driver for it?

Hi there

No you don;t, your computer should recognise the new chip providing it is installed correctly. If your computer starts up without any problems, your RAM should be installed correctly. Check this by going into your control panel and selecting system. Your RAM information should be displayed and should reflect the extra RAM you have installed. Please ensure that the RAM from your old computer is the same the type of RAM your new computer requires.

Ensure your computer is shut down and disconnected from power before installing RAM. Also, ensure that you discharge static from your body by touching the outside casing of your computer as static can damage computer components.

Hope this helps you out.

Scott
