I just want to do e-mail, myspace, surfing the internet. Storing pictures, itunes and SIMS 2!

i think it would be good with all your stuff…i don’t know about sims 2…the graphics may be a little on the dull end, but it should work. Email, myspace, etc. will have no problem on that laptop. Also, you could also buy a graphics card or bigger ram size to make the laptop a suitable gaming machine… (or buy the FZ series which has nvidia 8400 gt)

How do i set up Raid without wiping my drive?

I have two identical HD drives in my computer. I was dual booting XP and Vista with one operating system in each drive. Now i have formatted the XP drive and want to set up Raid, the type of Raid that splits the data and increases read time. Can i set up Raid without formatting both drives? My mobo is a EVGA Nvidia 680i.

To my knowledge, you can not. Your best bet would be to back up your data, configure your RAID for stripe and then restore your backup.

Will World of Warcraft run on a nVidia AGP Geforce FX 5500 with 256mb DDR?

I am looking to start playing WoW again and am wondering if this video card would run it fine, I will need it to not be choppy in raids or in any enviroment of WoW.
the 256mb ddr is the gfx card memory, not my computer’s ram
and I have a 2.8ghz pentium 4 processor

You might not be able to turn on all the eye candy, but yes, WoW will run just fine if you adjust the graphics settings a little.

A friend of a friend was playing WoW for years on a system that was a lot worse than what you have. (Athlon XP 1.6ghz, 512mb system RAM, GeForce FX5600) He had to crank the graphics down quite a bit, but the game ran smoothly for him.

Does my computer have a PCIe slot?

I have a nec powermate dl h7203. It has a good processor but its videocard is old and i need to know if it has a PCIe slot.

I don’t know. Do a google search and learn the looks of a PCI, AGP, and PCIe video card. A pci will be shorter and white which will be the same size as your modem or possibly your ethernet or sound card. AGP will most likely be a brown slot or maybe blue, either way it will have a type of pull tab to remove the other card. (the pull tab is a trademark of an AGP slot). A PCIe will have a very long slot, simply put. Just google some images of the slot types and you will be able to figure it out. ( :

I’m looking to replace 7.55×12 in (PIII) motherboard.?

I have 7.55×12 in ATX(PIII) motherboard and I look to replace it with something newer.
I want to purpose the case.

But the problem is that I cannot find any MOBO with the same dimensions.

Any suggestions?
regular ATX fits in the case, but if the board is more than 7,55″ the HDD is touching the board.

That’s why I need the board with same dimensions.

You don’t need a motherboard with the exact same dimensions.

As long as a motherboard conforms to the ATX standard, it will fit in your case even if it has different dimensions. That’s because the screw holes, I/O backplane and expansion slots are all still in the same places, as specified by the ATX standard.

EDITED TO ADD:

Here’s a board that is 7.6-inches wide. Might work for your purposes: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131329 It works with Core 2 Duos and Core 2 Quads.

The difference between 7.55″ and 7.6″ is 1/20th of an inch. Hopefully that is close enough.
