Can i change a dells ram base with a gateways ram base?

i have a dell with only 128 ram. i have a gateway with 256. Im wondering if you can change or add ram bases even though they come from different companies.
the ram in the dell is 138 pin. the gateway is a 240 pin.

As long as it fits (same pinout), go ahead and try. It won’t hurt anything if it’s not recognized.
