Cooling Heatsink


Is it adviceable to install a cooling fan on my video card heatsink?

I’m using ATI Radeon Gecube 9250 128mb 3D card with Acer Veriton 5200, Pentium 4, 1.7ghz, 512mb, 60gb HDD…. I’m living in Malaysia so the weather is hot and I’m not allowed to switch on the air conditioner all the time, yet my computer is always on (24hours) and i play games for almost the whole day.. I’m afarid that i might fry the video card as it doesn’t comes with it’s own heatsink fan…

It can’t do any harm to install a fan on your video card. As with any electronic equipment, the cooler it runs, the better. Remember that as with anything, your card was built to a price, so the manufacturer installed a metal heatsink, which is less expensive than a fan & heatsink. Therefore put a fan on, it can’t harm it.

Atx Case , Gigabyte Motherboard HELP?

i have a Gigabyte S-Series GA-M52S-S3P motherboard and a ATX CASE , ive installed the SPEAKER connector , Reset Switch , Hard Disk Active Led , but in my manual it says i need to connect MSG + , MSG – . and PW + , PW – , i cant find the Wires from the case to connect to them , the rest of the wires all say Port + . Port – , and some just have + , – on them i am stuck i need help please
Or does the Power Supply come with a power switch to put in the motherboard ??? because havent bought power supply yet
I FOUND THE POWER SWITCH

Dig around the front of your case. You absolutely need your power connector or else you won’t be able to boot your computer. The rest really don’t matter.

Trace the other wires back to where they enter from the front. If you don’t see your power wire coming out of the same area, you might need to take the front off your case to get a better look.

My son jacked up his USB ports on his laptop by pushing the USB hard into the laptop, so when you try to plug up a digitial camera, a Ipod charger or anything it want install. What do I do now?

Take it in to have the motherboard replaced or buy a new one. You cant fix that. I guess you can get a pcmcia->usb card…

How do I use a memory stick duo adaptor on a laptop?

I ordered a memory stick pro duo for my camera and it works perfectly but the adaptor came with it. Im thinking i slot the memory stick into the adaptor lol? Then im guessing the adaptor goes into the card slot. Cause a green light quickly flashed when i slotted it in but it didnt do anything :/? and i dont exactly want to push it right in or it might get stuck, what should i do?

Yes, you slot the memory stick into the adaptor.
Then you put the adaptor into the card slot on the laptop. If the green light does come up and nothing comes on the screen, go to My Computer and access it from there.
