Drive Metal
How do I transfer data from my Dell laptop’s hard drive to a new computer?
Okay, today the motherboard “went” in my Dell Inspirion laptop, I took it to the repair shop and the repairman popped out the hard drive and hooked this cable up to it. One end of the cable had a USB port on it, but the other end had the hard drive metal longish connection to connect onto the hard drive. Where do I find one of these same cables to transfer all that data to another computer or external hard drive? What is it called? Thank you.
It will be easiest with an external hard drive. You can clear everything off of it onto the drive and then move everything onto the new hard drive. You may need the operating system disks if you are setting up from scratch, and a USB port connection cable, otherwise transfer away!
Celeron Laptop
What is the difference between these Celeron laptops?
What is the difference between these two laptops and which is faster, if any?
Toshiba Satellite L300 Celeron 2.2GHZ
and
Toshiba Satellite L300 Celeron Dual Core 1.66GHZ
(Both have the same DDR Ram and HDD)
Well I want to do basic internet surfing, chatting, facebooking etc and maybe a few games, but I understand neither of those would be gaming computers. So the fact that the dual core is 1.66ghz compared to the 2.2ghz mean it is slower, but it will process commands more quickly and effectively?
Usually the dual core would be better at processing things, and if you want speed you could overclock it, which might not be what you’re interested in though. What are you going to do with the laptop? Will it just be word processing or something more intensive?
