Stereo Sound
How do I connect my bose bookshelf speakers to my computer so that I get TRUE stereo sound?
I know I probably have to get a receiver, but after that do I need a new sound card or something? The speakers are Bose 201 series. I only have the integrated sound card right now. Thanks.
The speakers use standard speaker wires to connect.
You will need a stereo amplifier at least. (of course: All AV recievers that are able to work in stereo mode (they all should be able to) would work, too.)
You might want to check wheter your sound card has a optical or coaxial digital output. Most of the more recent onboard soundcards have at least one of both. The analog connectors of onboard soundcards often have a very bad quality. (even to the point where not-all-that-great Bose speakers could use a better source) In that case you should try to go for some amp that has a corresponding digital in connector. If your soundcard doesn’t have a digital out you can still try the stereo jacks (which all soundcards have) and use an adapter cable to hook it up to the analog in of a reciever. (Which will most likely be RCA connectors on the amp … and all amps should have those, too.

External Audio
Need External cd changer for Mercedes Benz MB audio 10 CC?
I have a mercedes benz C180. It has MB audio 10 CC fitted to it and i need an external cd changer which is compatible to it. The original Mercedes Benz cd changer too costly so i was thinking if cd changers from other companies like kenwood or pioneer would be compatible or not… Did anyone try this one out? I mean a different company cd changer to the Mercedes Benz audio system?
well there mioght be a possibility but i think your better off asking an audio shop or maybe just changing the stereo and getting a cd changer compatible with that one it might be easier but i do know that they sell a harness so you can connect a cd changer to it so you might get lucky and find one
Channel Surround
Is there a way I can hook up my ipod to my 5.1 Channel Surround System by Philips?
I own a ipod and a Philips Extreme 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System (really cheap, bought for $90 at Frys). I have hooked up the cable in various ways, but at the best, I get sound out the front and back speakers, not the center one and the subwoofer. I would really like to get my ipod sound through at least the subwoofer, and can’t find a way to do it. The system obviously doesn’t use RCA, which is just left and right, not surround. Anyway, does anyone know an inexpensive/free and easy way to do this? Please help, I love to listen to my music really loud and bassy in my room, but I can’t really do that with an Ihome, can I?
you need a headphone jack to an RCA converted….
